Aruba celebrated its 59th Annual Grand Carnaval Parade on February 10th. ‘Carnavalistas’ took to the streets to show off beautiful costumes, body pieces, road pieces and floats. Ten groups and over 1800 partygoers danced their way through the San Nicolas downtown area, in a parade that was opened by Royal Carnaval Group, featuring the 2013 Carnaval Queen. Indeed, Aruba is home to an 80-count flock of ostrich, who share their home at the Aruba Ostrich Farm with Australian emus. Aruba's rugged landscape and climate has proven to be welcoming to this bird species, whose native homeland is Africa.
